Who we are

VexMap is an interactive corporate intelligence platform operated by VexMap. We are accessible at vexmap.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our website and application.

By using VexMap, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What information we collect

We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you use the service.

Information you provide:

• Your email address when you create a free account
• Payment information when you subscribe to Pro - this is processed entirely by Stripe and we never see or store your full card details
• Any messages you send to us via email

Information collected automatically:

• Basic usage data, such as which companies you search for and which features you use, to help us improve the product
• Your IP address and browser type for security and abuse prevention
• Session data to keep you logged in

We do not collect data on your trades, investment decisions, or financial accounts. VexMap has no connection to your brokerage or banking information.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve VexMap. Specifically:

• To create and manage your account
• To process your Pro subscription and manage billing through Stripe
• To send you transactional emails, such as receipts and account notices - we do not send marketing emails unless you opt in
• To understand how the product is used so we can fix bugs and build better features
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We will never use your data to show you advertising, build a profile for sale to third parties, or share it with data brokers.

Third-party services

VexMap uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:

• Stripe - processes all Pro subscription payments. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. Your payment data is stored and managed entirely by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
• Google Fonts - loads the typefaces used in the interface. Google may log your IP address as part of this request. No personal data beyond this is shared.
• Financial data providers - stock prices and company data are sourced from third-party market data APIs. We pass no personal information to these providers.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other advertising or behavioural tracking service.

Cookies and local storage

VexMap uses browser storage to save your session, preferences, and watchlist locally on your device. This is necessary for the app to function and does not involve tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can clear your browser storage at any time through your browser settings, though this will log you out and reset your local preferences.

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (for example, billing records for tax purposes, which we keep for 7 years).

Anonymous usage data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict how we process your data
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

Children's privacy

VexMap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Users aged 13–17 may use VexMap for educational purposes. If you are an educator managing accounts for students, please contact us to discuss appropriate arrangements.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We may also notify registered users by email for significant changes.

Your continued use of VexMap after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
